While I applaud his use of an actual adverb (they’re disappearing), “alloy” is not a verb.
The Oxford says can be used as a verb, Merriam Webster says only a noun. Humpty Dumpty says words mean what I choose them to mean.
My guess is that it’s a term wine aficionados have coined to be even MORE pretentious…
