Christmas Carols: Love "÷em or Leave "÷em?
by GoComicsWith Thanksgiving well behind us, there's no doubt jolly jingles have started infiltrating your daily life - bursting through your radio, cheerfully playing in every store, overheard in the humming of a coworker.
Around this time of year, you'll run into two types of people: the Scrooge who finds the sound of Christmas carols comparable to nails on a chalkboard, and the person who believes the tinsel-filled tunes only enhance the spirit of the season.
After singing (and bah-humbugging) along with a few GoComics characters, we're left with some pros and cons.
Pros:
1. They brighten bleak winter days.
2. They're filled with words of wisdom.
3. A happy jingle leads to a happy jig.
4. Holiday chores are fun with a little "wrap"-music!
Cons:
1. New takes on old classics can spoil the season.
2. Sometimes, enthusiasm for Christmas carols goes a bit too far.
3. Don't let the tune fool you. Carols can be more creepy than cheery.
4. Talk about an earworm!
