When Comics Go Country
by GoComicsWith today (September 17) being International Country Music Day, we couldn't help but give a shout-out to a country cowboy - Guy Gilchrist!
It's no secret that Guy is a very talented cartoonist, and, if you've read his (Nancy, Random Acts of Nancy, Today's Dogg) "Meet Your Creator" blog post, then you also know about his other talent. He's a country music artist! Guy's passion for the genre isn't hard to pick up on if you keep an eye out for the many country music references in Nancy:
As the country-loving cartoonist says in his "Meet Your Creator" blog post:
"Being a cartoonist is a pretty solitary profession. So, it's a lot of fun for me to get out into the music community here in Nashville every once in a while. I've had the chance to appear on the Grand Ole Opry several times. That's certainly been a dream come true. Just like this incredible life that I've had in cartooning."
We love watching Guy Gilchrist combine two of his passions: comics and country music!
