World Dracula Day Won't Be Mist With These Comics
by The GoComics TeamVampire and otherwise vampiric myths of all flavors have been around as long as humankind, but we can all thank Bram Stoker's book Dracula for kickstarting the bloodsuckers' place in modern pop culture on this day in 1897. It's kind of a bummer that Dracula, the tale of a superpowered count who travels to England in search of love, was published in May and not, say, Halloween. Still, what else do we have to celebrate this time of the year? We'll take anything we can get to get us through to Memorial Day!
Thanks for Drac, Bram! Your book is kind of uneven, but that first chapter is hot as fire and its approximately 900 trillion movie adaptations all have some rad bits (especially those Hammer films!). Not bad for a 130-year-old book. Happy World Dracula Day! Bleh!
