Crunch Into The Blessed Blandness Of Graham Cracker Day With These Comics
by The GoComics TeamGraham crackers are an insipid snack, but what an insipid snack! Sure, they have a nice melt-in-your-mouth quality, but that's hardly a distinguishing characteristic in the cracker family. What makes them special is their form factor and convenience as a conveyance for actual flavors. Essentially snappable toast, GC's can be done up with honey, cinnamon or core s'more ingredients. In a pinch, they can even be used as kindling in campfires. I mean, probably. I've accidentally dropped tons of s'mores into open flames.
It's all as Sylvester Graham intended. No, the 19th-century Presbyterian minister didn't invent or profit from Graham crackers, but he sure advocated for their blandness. Graham and his followers subscribed to a vegetarian diet, which minimized stimulation and pleasure as part of the temperance craze. All these years later, the crackers still function as intended. On Graham Cracker Day it's all we can do to share some comics with you. Try not to enjoy them much, though. Graham would probably cast a stoic non-glance your way in indifference.

I completely disagree with the contention that Graham crackers are bland. Just because they aren’t overdosed with salt doesn’t mean they don’t have a delightful and full flavor. If you want to complain about bland crackers, let’s have a Pilot Biscuit Day.

Actually, the main point was that he hoped that his crackers would prove to be an antaphrodisiac.
