Crispy Comics For National French Fry Day
by The GoComics TeamNational French Fries Day isn't just the perfect time for fast food conglomerates to offer special promotions -- hooking hungry customers like so many fish in a stocked pond -- it's also the perfect day to reflect on the fascinating history of the food in all its forms.
Did you know France and Belgium both invented fries at exactly the same exact time? And that Uncle Sam, the mythic personification of America, was on hand to moderate an arm-wrestle-off to decide who got the credit? That's probably because we made it up! We've got a good reason, too, because the Wikipedia entry has a bunch of distracting pictures of delicious-looking fry varieties from around the globe. We got really distracted when we learned about the Tornado Fries from South Korea and other parts of Asia and almost forgot to finish writing this very post. We'd better wrap this up quickly so we can go get fries... Why don't you go on and celebrate National French Fries Day with these delectable fry comics?
And no, none of the included comics contain a "Would you like fries with that?" punchline. Because the answer is clearly "yes."

If The Far Side was on GoComics, there would be one called “The Potatoheads in Paris” in here.
