Give These Comics A Spin On Vinyl Record Day
by The GoComics TeamOn this day in 1877, Thomas Edison, a guy who invented several things you may have heard of, dropped his most sonic joint of all time: the phonograph. Though it originally played metal cylinders, eventually Alexander Graham Bell introduced a wax variety. Later still, Emile Berliner moved the media to discs. It wasn't long before RCA Victor decided that vinyl made for the best-sounding phonograph disc, effectively popularizing the vinyl record beginning in 1931. Though compact cassette tapes, compact discs and digital revolutions have since made vinyl a bit of a relic, audiophiles and collectors still love vinyl for its warm sound, artful size and... I dunno, how nice it looks on a shelf as part of a well-curated collection?
At any rate, it's Vinyl Record Day and these comics have the pop and skip you crave. Take 'em for a spin at 45 rpm. Just be careful with that needle.
