10 Comics To Power Up Your National Video Games Day
by The GoComics TeamNational Video Games Day (not to be confused with, uh, normal Video Games Day?) is our favorite kind of self-indulgent fauxliday. September 12 doesn't mark the invention of any key technologies, any filed patents, any creator births, any landmark game releases, or anything. Why, the OnThisDayInGaming Twitter didn't even post last September 12 to prove us wrong!
But that's okay. You don't need an excuse to play video games for the same reason you don't need an excuse to eat food, breathe air, sleep, or one of those other functions indicating you're a living being -- at least if you were born after Pong's 1972 debut.
As you prepare to celebrate National Video Games Day on your phone, console, PC, VR headset, or otherwise, we invite you to power up by reading this selection of video game comics. They won't help you play any better, but they may lift your spirits enough to keep you from ragequitting if you lose.
