'Little Moments of Love' Joins GoComics!
by Stephen RothAs Catana Chetwynd tells it, the spark of what became Little Moments of Love was a comment from her partner, John, on Thanksgiving Day 2016. He suggested doing a webcomic about their relationship. What quickly followed was a whirlwind of creativity.
"One hour later, the first Catana comic was created – and within the next few days, five more were created," Chetwynd wrote on her website. "The comics were never intended to be published online, but thanks to John, they were! I was prepared to be embarrassed and torn apart (the Internet is a scary place, you know), but to my surprise, the comics took off. Completely unprepared, without a website or social media, or even a name for the comics, we got to work and started to create what we know as Catana Comics today."
Chetwynd's creation quickly found a fan base, growing to more than a million followers on Facebook. A collection of her work, Little Moments of Love, was published by Andrews McMeel in June 2018. On Sept. 24, Little Moments of Love debuted as a twice-weekly feature on GoComics. Click here to read the first installment, a playful take on the mere-exposure effect:
Fueled by love, tenderness, optimism, and everyday acts of random silliness, Little Moments of Love perfectly captures what happens when you wake up every morning with the person you want to grow old with. Chetwynd still marvels at how quickly her webcomic has found an audience and how it continues to resonate with people.
"At the end of the day, while these comics were not in our life plan at all, they have become so important to us!" she wrote. "We are just a happy little couple from upstate New York."
