He would later create a cast of characters for the “Tracy Ullman Show” featuring Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Homer, and Marge, known colloquially as “The Simpsons”. In December of 1989 “The Simpsons” aired for the first time as their own show and as of today, August of 2022, are still on-air and debut new episodes on, ironically, Sunday.
