Back in the day, burning porta-potties might not have been such a big thing. Now that I’m - well let’s face it - old, and my body isn’t as resilient as it once was, the only thing I’d have to say about that is “DON’T BURN THE PORTA-POTTIES!!!!!!”
There’s old - and there’s older and wiser. It’s all a matter of perspective and how you live life. (They were just setting the stage for Woodstock ‘99.)
Because it was a “happening”, and not just an event, there will only be one Woodstock and it will never happen again. Some might say thank God to that. On the other hand, something very liberating happens to you when you run around naked, covered only in mud, and feel oneness with the world and your fellow man. That usually goes away a few hours after the drugs run out, but at Woodstock it lasted longer.
Hard to believe that, one or two years earlier, Opus was a very effective bouncer; he once threw Steve Dallas out on his heinie when the New Year’s party had ended and Steve refused to leave.

At Woodstock it lasted until we ran out of corn flakes.

At the US festival in ‘83, Roth was falling down drunk.
