Ethics, schmetics… who built the landmines his father is using to smoke schnauzers?

To be fair, Oliver has to rehearse the entire history of the theory of just war before he can even begin to make an ethical decision. It will take a lot of time!

Reminds me of the comic schtick with the late Jack Benny, some years ago. Jack Is accosted by a mugger who, with a gun, demands,“Your money or your life!” Benny, with a very thoughtful expression, stares at the mugger. The mugger repeats the demand, “Your money or your life!” Benny replies, “I’m thinking! I’m thinking!”

Sad to say, it appears that much of the research today is just about getting more grant $$$. Does that affect the results? “Follow the $$$.”

Politicians, business, religion, and now science are all on the take? Who’da thunk it! No wonder even “facts” are no longer facts.

The great Jack Benny line was serendipitous: Someone said the “money or life” line and then after a pause while the writer was trying to think up a response Benny or his writer just blurted out “I’m thinking.”
