@K.C. Fahel .When I was much younger, a woman was making fun of my name not having an ‘h’ in it.“Too poor to spell it correctly?”I told her “My name is not (pronounce it like the ‘th’ in thistle) ‘Ther-essa’. It’s ‘Teresa’, the way it was meant to be spelled!”.I tell ya what! I can’t stand a bully! The woman (notice I didn’t say ‘lady’) was miffed when I put her in her place as she thought she had the right to insult somebody she didn’t know! Sure her name was Theresa (probably still is), but she didn’t have to be snotty about it!________________________________________
That’s just mean. I wouldn’t do that. I believe that the “Th” variation is French, with the “th” lightly pronounced (my grandmother used to pronounce my mother’s name “Ther-RICE” with a rolling “r”). The only problem I have with the difference is remembering that, when referring to my boss’ daughter, it’s without the “h”. Anyway, I would have had your back, and would have told her to “get the ‘h’ out of here” (with apologies to Telma Hopkins from Tony Orlando & Dawn).

Right now I’m hearing Dana Carvey as George HW Bush in my head. “Not gonna do it. Wouldn’t be prudent at this juncture.”

I liked the “Kinder and Gentler America” better than the “Time for a change America”.
