Hate to break it to ya, but “them” are everywhere, residing less-than-comfortably in closets across the nation.

And in the next couple of decades (from the original publishing of this strip, 1984) “them” are going to come out of the closet – and eventually one of “them” will run for the President of the United States.

Objections should have been asked for before a vote was taken.

For “us” there’s always a “them”.

Italians? I hear one of them is their Congresscritter. Asian-Americans? Russians? People who are not white hetero cis-gendered males? Hipsters? Rabbit eating Coyotes? (There are several families of them scattered around The City.) At one time there was a left-handed pediatric oncologist and his family living there in the Pacific Heights neighbourhood with his wife, daughters and 3 Labs and 5 cats.

You know, “THEM!” (The horror, the horror.)

I’d be worried about the civic hygiene and possible disease these days….
