I read where there are people in Japan who never leave their homes. They work on the computer and earn their money that way, and order everything delivered.
Isaac Asimov wrote about a society that never left their homes, so when there was a murder, they had to import a cop from Earth to do the investigating. They even differentiated between “seeing” someone face to face, live, or “viewing” someone on a video screen. Nudity was okay in “viewing”, but not in “seeing”.
