What’s even more feasible is that the mythology of both the Old and New Testaments should not be taken literally. If the story of Methuselah was based on a real person, and he lived to be 60, imagine how much more impressive it would be to report him as having lived to be 900. Oh, one other point: the cartoon Methuselah is shown here as living in the cartoon suburbs and driving a cartoon car. That also indicates that he has lived well beyond 900 years. This is a cartoon, and Methuselah as portrayed here is just a symbol of extreme long life. There’s nothing Biblical or religious here.
Oh ye of little faith. Many of you won’t believe the Bible, even though no real error has ever been found n it. Instead, you will believe some college professor with virtually no credibility to his name, no fulfilled prophecies, and a life characterized by sin and wickedness. To me it is a no-brainer. I choose to believe the tried and true Bible. God made the world and all that is in it in six literal days according to Exodus 20. God made it with the appearance of age – Adam was not created as a one-day-old embryo, but a full-grown man. God created a more-perfect environment, and as a result, Methuselah lived to be 969 years old.
