I recently saw a video on YouTube that was comparing the original Watership Down movie with the remake on Netflix. So, naturally, I had to reread the book. Going by the YouTube video, the original movie was more faithful to the book than the remake is (though even that made several changes).
I the re-watched the video that had inspired me to reread the book, and as I was doing that, I noticed another video that compared the original movie to the book. Warning: I have to agree with that video, Watership Down is not a kid’s movie!
Orbsters! Boop requests from the Mega-Orb for me tomorrow as I follow up with my spine doctor. The back has been doing better, but not great, and I fear the s-word … surgery … may be part of tomorrow’s conversation.
And because I’m a glutton for punishment, I also see my ortho tomorrow about my knee. In his case, though, I want him to scope the knee. I appreciate his preference for conservative treatment, but I’ve been doing this since I was a kid and I know it’s time to go in and clean everything out. Also, aspirating the joint, aside from requiring a several-inch-long needle that freaks me out, hasn’t worked for longer than two weeks each of the last few times he did it.
Asking for prayers & good thoughts for my poor Skywalker (one of the young colony kitties). She’s PJ’s sister on her father’s side, I’m almost positive. I’m not sure if she got hit, fell off of the roof, or met an unfriendly dog, but she’s dragging her pelvis when she tries to walk. I haven’t been able to trap her to take her to the vet, yet, but I’ll try again tomorrow. She’s eating, drinking, and pottying fine, as near as I can tell, so I’m worried, but not super worried, if that makes any sense. I didn’t see any evidence of blood anywhere or coming from anywhere it shouldn’t, either – which seems like a positive sign.
Conan is responding well to our Plan B to address his lymphoma – his blood work is looking better and the oncologist even noted how soft and shiny his coat is this week. This is only the second round (the usual course is 5), but so far things are looking good!

What kind of dog is Trevor? Boarder Collie? In my head, he speaks with an English or Welsh accent.

That looks like a nice comfy dog to snuggle up with on a winter night, next to a roaring fire, in a nest of big comfy cushions.

I agree! I can’t stand It when people talk about work during breaks and lunch! Thank goodness I am usually reading a book anyway.

A dog. Obviously the cats are doomed. Hey someone had to say it and Robin seems to be slacking off.
