I’ve only seen respectful and heartfelt comments.

Sadly, I know of one paper that had to start requiring registration and log-in due to bigoted comments.

It was mostly in the news forums, but a few were posted on obituaries. Horrifying.

This is an accurate critique of “Web 2.0”. It may not apply specifically to obituaries, but it does to just about every other article posted on a newspaper site.

On the plus side, those comments would supply enough anger to displace most feelings of grief.

Looks like the leftist comments on a Ramirez cartoon.

There was a thing on the news about people in Britain who were slaming people, especially in the obits. Some of the things they said were much worse than in today’s cartoon. They tried to talk to one of the slammers in sort of an ambush interview. He just shrugged them off saying he had the right of speech, then he turned his back on the camera and boarded a trolly.

This is one of the most brilliantly subversive comics I have ever seen. Congratulations. (In retrospect, I guess I should have written OMG! ROTFLMFAO or something.)

Since none of the comments in the comic were political in the slightest, I guess we know someone’s political affiliation now. Everyone who tries to turn any comic political should understand that your comment says more about you than the people you’re trying to malign (or rarely, glorify).

    I think it’s all morbid.

Yes, even online death notices can be troll bait!
