Nowadays it seems every website wants you to choose “security questions” to answer when you log in.

I’ve always thought mother’s maiden name was stupid…. your siblings know it…if you lived in a small town as a child your friends may have known it…if you still live there, everybody probably knows it.

Sometimes, though, a website will offer me a whole list with NOTHING on it that I can answer. If I make something up, and they save it, I won’t remember what I said.Maternal grandmother’s maiden name? No idea.Last name of my senior prom date? Didn’t go.Father’s childhood dog’s name…Oh right. Like my father, the pet hater, had a dog.Childhood nickname….are you kidding me? Uh…. “Susan.”

Those are actual questions from a drop down menu I was supposed to pick from just yesterday…and I had to choose three different ones from the same list.I did find a couple that I could answer…but so could a few other people who know me…I sure hope none of them want to hack my account…well… unless they want to pay my bill…

What really cracks me up is having to chose a name and password for sites where security means nothing to me…Go ahead!Steal my TV listings.I don’t have a television anyway.

My password is “Incorrect”. When I forget it, they say “Your password is incorrect”. Oh yeah, thanks.
