Aahhhh. The old pie in the face trick. Good phycical comedy just doesn’t get stale.

Look at all those pies sitting there on shelves, waiting for action. Coconut cream? Or lemon meringue?

Broomie looks pleased.

This is better than Pie-in-the-sky.

The Keystone Kops,Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, Our Gang/Little Rascals, Abbott & Costello, The Three Stooges, and The Marx Brothers. All of them (at least) had a good pie fight.

The Three Stooges have had many.

Let’s not forget “Animal Hoouse”. They had a rather cool food fight.

Fortunately, I had just finished high school before Animal House came out. Never even saw anything as much as Bluto saying “What am I?”…SPLORK…”I’m a Zit”

hummm, i thought pie fights were just a movie myth but seeing broomie involved in one makes it real

In the movies, pies used in fights are usually made from shaving cream, if I’ve heard correctly. Real whipped cream melts under the lights.

That can’t be. In some cases, you see them eating the stuff right off their pied faces.

Josh1360: I’ve seen all the Marx Brothers films, and I’ve never seen a pie fight in any of them. The Marxes may be the exception that tests the rule.

And did Chaplin ever really have a pie fight in one of his films (I don’t know; I’m askin’)? It seems more like a Mack Sennett kind of thing…
