See, Broomie? They may smoke other things, but not cigars.

The blond geek doesn’t look very proficient in cigar-smoking, but I guess he’ll serve as as a dummy for demonstration-purposes….

I gave up smoking the easy way - I never started.

I remember the first strips where she used to smoke a stinking cigar… I regret those days!

(the same thing happened with Lucky Luke, he stopped rolling his cigarettes in order not to be a bad model for the kids… SIGH!)

Seeing woman who smoke cigars is a strange sight. With Broomie though, it almost seems natural somehow.

And I do remember those days when she did smoke a cigar.

thanks for quitting smoking broomie, it is a good choice, if the kids don’t see you do it, maybe they won’t ever start.

In a Sunday strip, Broomie once told Gaylord that her father had put $10 into a bank account in her name when she was only ten years old. Gaylord calculated that Broomie, after 1500 years of accumulating interest, must now be the richest person in the world, but she said, “Too bad I snuck it out the next day to buy cigars.”

Today, that lesson could apply to people who go to Starbucks.
