I once did substituting in my local district school system. For 6 years I did the job that no regular teacher would dare do. I know because they told me. After a while of teaching every kind of class, I settled on doing PE exclusively. When the sub in around in PE the class is spent in shooting baskets, doing homework or sleeping. Then the pay was quite low: $32 per day with a college degree. Later, while I was working full time in business, they raised the fee to $75 per day and I almost quit my job. But, the job had other perks that would’ve been lost with subbing.

Wasn’t there a movie about a Special Forces guy who became a substitute teacher ?

He don’t put up with no trouble? Sounds like he could be in for some not unapproved trouble… ☺

When I was in school, there was a a woman who was frequently called to sub and who was know by us students as “Little Hitler”. We never messed with her.

This is just a side gig, at night he works for the mob.

He probably bullied his way into that job.
