It’s true that there’s no fool like an old fool (an old person who has closed himself off to learning and growing as a person). Sadly, that can happen at any age. However, to those who choose to grow: with increasing time to explore, come new experiences. New experiences can lead to new perspectives. New perspectives can lead to new behaviors, which then bring another round of new experiences. As time proves or disproves the value of the new behaviors in increasing happiness or in predicting other outcomes, we understand better our world, and those around us. This is wisdom. Then comes the most difficult challenge: using that wisdom to help ourselves and others.

It’s not my favorite thing either, but it beats the alternative.

Some people can survive on knowledge without wisdom. I think you do better with wisdom even if you lack knowledge. But it’s a killer combination.

At 1,500 years old, Broomie must have more wisdom than anyone else….. not.

Old age is when the folly of youth catches up to you. I’m not old, I’m vintage.

I would like some assurance that no cactus was harmed in the drawing of this cartoon.

Broomie may not be a good advertisement for “aging gracefully” but who else will claim her longevity?
