Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for March 05, 1988
Transcript:
Calvin: Much as I love my "Chocolate frosted crunchy sugar bombs," the best part is after the cereal is gone. That's when you ear the leftover milk that's all sludgy from the extra sugar you added. Sometimes I eat two or three bowls of this. Hobbes: I can hear your heart racing from here. Calvin: They make this cereal with marshmallow bits, too, but Mom won't buy it for me.

Yes, many cereals used to have “Sugar” in the name. Like “Sugar Pops.” Others just have 40-50%+ sugar in them. And if you spoon on sugar as well. . . .
Our family never got the pre-sweetened Kool-Aid. We added our own sugar—at about 1/2 the recommended amount.
