My stress dreams always revolve around a job that I had 17 years ago. It’s amazing how when I was a kid my nightmares were always about thoughts similar to horror movies. Now my nightmares are about old horrible jobs. And, the thing that’s scary, is the horrible job is scarier.
cleokaya- you are SO right. Nightmares about work/school/real life are tons scarier than your average boogyman. I still am more freaked out about what’s going to be on my chem test than a reenactment of the Ring.
When I was in the Navy, a guy would wake a bunch of us up for the next watch… I had one of these dreams, getting up and dressed only to be awakened again! Sheesh!!
It’s worse when you have been retired for years and you still dream you are working and and you can’t find the right papers and you forgot to write things down . .
I graduated from University well over 20 years ago, but when I’m stressed, I still dream that I’ve got an exam to write, I haven’t studied, can’t find my locker, don’t know where my text books are…
Burgundy, that dream never goes away, I’m retired, and still have those dreams, especially the one where the final exam is the next day, and I haven’t read the book. I actually did well in school, and from what I’ve read, people who were good scholars tend to have these dreams.
Burgundy2 and margueritem: My University days are about 50 years ago, and that is still my worst dream. I haven’t attended classes, opened a book or studied and that important exam is today!
This happens to me all the time too. Sometimes I dream I’ve gotten up, had my shower and gotten a lot of housework done and then I wake up and find that it was a dream and I didn’t get anything done! It’s soooo frustrating! I can relate to those dreams you’re all talking about too, about the tests and exams in school. Wildmustang, I get deja vu a lot!
I also have the forgot to go to class and have an important exam dream. Another annoying one is when I dream the power went off, the clock stopped and I’m late for work. I jump up and realize it’s only 2 a.m. Never do get back to sleep .
Good evening. Tonight on ‘It’s the Mind’, we examine the phenomenon of déjà vu. That strange feeling we sometimes get that we’ve lived through something before, that what is happening now has already happened. I had dreams about chemistry exams from high school as well. But people, isn’t it great to wake up from such a dream and laugh out loud, because it is over allready for long year and your profession is artist, never thinking on chemistry? :D
I hate these types of repeating dreams. One time, for about 4 nights in a row, i had a dream where a dragon came, i was going inside to escape, and my family locked me outside. so the dragon pinned me to the trampoline and… I woke up

What a nightmare. I still have those kind of dreams about work, and I retired seven years ago.

I do not want my dreams becoming like deja vu! I had a couple of deja vu before. I had weird feeling, though.

Calvin must be lucid dreaming, where the person is aware that they are dreaming, but play along to stay asleep.

I don’t usually have dreams like that, most of them are weird or crazy. Like the one where I turned into a Charizard, that one was crazy!
