Yes, that bad. In fact, he might consider cremation and having his ashes combined with the dust of the binoculars, then shot into space. Thus endeth Spaceman Spiff.
The truth is looking more like a viable option with every panel read. And don’t forget the waterworks. After all, Calvin is still a kid. And kids look so pitiful when they cry.
Tell your Dad that you have discovered a new process for total destruction and there are Zillions of dollars to be made in the waste management industry.
No glue, nor replicator will never get Dad his beloved binoculars back ever again. Calvin is just going to have to bite the bullet on this and and fess’ up to Dad.
“The truth is looking more like a viable option with every panel read. And don’t forget the waterworks. After all, Calvin is still a kid. And kids look so pitiful when they cry.”
A teacher and principal friend (in a prestigious South American school) once told me that the students knew to take advantage of this. The older ones (age about 8-15) would stand in front of his desk with head bowed looking repentant and cutely sad. The younger ones (ages 6-8 or so) would come around the desk to stand by his chair and look up at him with those big, sad, puppy-dog eyes.
HyukNuyk, at least he won’t glue his fingers to the binoculars, if he uses tape that is. But if he did use duct tape, I’m pretty sure Dad would notice.
A road roller must have gone over it. Calvin, if you used the binoculars to see the road roller coming to u, you could have saved yourself & the binoculars.

As a physicist, it’s the first time I see a phenomenon like this: a complete disintegration of binoculars. I have to study this somewhat deeper.
