This is proof that Hobbes is smarter than Calvin. One of many proofs that is.

As I got older, my winter experiences are going to be more like “Goodnight Moon” than “Into the Wild.”

Hobbes has this all figured out, thank you.

Well Hobbes is telling you you’re going the wrong way, Calvin. Don’t go looking to be in a wreck, because eventually everyone ends up in one. And it’s not fun.

I can almost hear Hobbes purring in front of the fire!

Neither is wrong, just too bad they’re not on the same page. Adventure and excitement, safety and comfort, both are good things I appreciate — apparently Calvin is somewhat conflicted within himself. No risk, no gain; no guts, no glory!Sometimes I choose to just go home and watch TV, rather than go out to try and meet people and find romance, avoiding the risk of rejection and disappointment, crashing on doom drop…..

Besides, how many times has Calvin survived a wild ride with crash landing? Who’s to say he he’s not the better for the experience? Apparently his rides are not dangers of fatality, and perhaps much of the risk is amplified in his own mind (which harbors some fears he has to overcome).

Hobbes is the smart one.

Since Hobbs only has the “life” that Calvin’s imagination gives him, he is the wiser Calvin that will eventually be integrated into Calvin’s personality … but he will always be a wild animal.

Awwwwww! Poor Hobbes.

See? This is why logicians like the “or”—you can simply answer “Yes” and nobody is any the wiser.

I’m not sure you’ll see this today but I seen your comment on yesterday’s Peanuts. I haven’t seen that TV Series. I’ve never heard of it to be honest.

If I had had a companion like Hobbes when I was a child, I would not have spent a week in the hospital for making the wrong choice!

Calvin speaks way beyond his years and Hobbes is right there with Calvin.

This reminds me of an old friend when he was trying to teach me to ski. I was always heading for the Starbucks counter in the ski lodge while he was ready for another run …

Calvin the politician delivering florid oratory. Hobbes the constituency knowing better and going inside. Discretion is the better part of valor – now where’s the hot chocolate?

Hobbes has the right idea! Now all he needs is a good book, a nice cup of hot chocolate and his best friend in the whole world to make this cozy winter scene absolutely complete!!!!!

Only the young feel immortal. I remember sledding when I was a lad… There was a lot less traffic! Good thing, too. Our “Killer hill” let out into the street…
