I tried looking up “booger” in the dictionary once. Couldn’t find it. Couldn’t find it in ANY of ‘em. Go figure. Don’t know what the “proper” medical term is, either. Crustose rhinoexcrescence?

It’s not about what you dig up, it’s how far you can fling it that counts.

Calvin should just look over his head to get the spelling. This is one of my very favorite morning chores: reading Calvin and Hobbes.

Some things aren’t meant to be spelled. Just pick and flick, man. Now, for your autobiography, would be a good time for a visual aid smooshed between the pages. (Please don’t correct the spelling of “smooshed;” I like the way it looks.)

You may think it’s funny, but it’s snot.

Like the video game Wordtris. At one point in the game, I had “not” on the board, and I got a wild card, so I picked “s” to spell “snot.” But that word was “snot” in the dictionary. I should have picked a “k”.

I was wondering if Calvin knows what a Dictionary is but if he does then he’ll be too lazy to look through it.

Bill Waterson hopes historians will identify him as the first comic strip creator to use the word “boogers” in his strips.

When you are a child prodigy you cannot afford to be a sloppy speller. Certain standards must be maintained.
