@susan: you use the “accent aigu” only when you want to pronounce the “e” as “eh”. I thought Cathy was still saying “aack”, only in a more sophisticated way. not “aack-eh”, the way it would be if you put on the accent.
Sorry, since I grew up in Quebec, and started taking French classes when I was 8 years old, I just automatically offer my knowledge to whoever is out there. Not meaning to be offensive.
I think I like Cathy in the first outfit better. It may be “slouchy” and “dumpy” but it looks a whole lot more cute and comfortable than the tight, ugly outfit she’s wearing in the last panel.
