Well, really, when else are you going to have the time and enough “lack of ambition” to look at actually other people’s family photos. You gotta be in a particular frame of mind to do that.

The laptop, and to a lesser degree the smartphone, suffer from being the Everything Machine. The clearest way to make my point is to imagine a “smart” lawnmower – which was also a movie theater, a bulletin board, a helicopter, a shopping mall … The end result is that the grass gets very, very tall.
Now to continue the analogy, if your Life is the grass …
