I’m with Mona. I’m not a big fan of turkey either. I fix butterfly chops for Thanksgiving. White meat, goes with all the sides, and sooo much easier in the clean-up dept!
Most store bought turkeys are factory farmed, fed crap, frozen for an extended period of time and then at the end of the line the person cooking it doesn’t do a proper job of it. So naturally the result is tasteless. ’A well sourced bird with the right diet, prepared correctly is such a totally a different experience. Some may find the price objectionable, for example an organic bird can cost twice as much, but if you only do it once a year you have to make it worth your while.

Turkey’s okay. Mona’s idea of confession is not so hot. The padre is a winner.

I buy a ready made turkey. Someone else does all the hard work. I just carve, serve, and accept the compliments.
