I wonder if having armed teachers would reduce the number of students violently attacking teachers in the inner cities. Knowing that 5% or 10% were armed, but not knowing which ones.
Back, in 1960s, I had a cousin, who was teaching in one of the roughest high schools in Santa Barbara, California. He kept a loaded pistol in a locked drawer, beneath the top of his desk. He kept the pistol in the drawer on top of his signed resignation, which only needed to be dated.

If you think teachers are so violent, maybe you should rethink attending school.
