Hi! I was just in the middle of typing out this long-g-g-g message to you (I got to reminiscing about an uncle that I had who lived in Mountain View, CA), and I was rambling on and on, and into the 5th or 6th long paragraph, when all of a sudden, I was cut off and lost the internet connection, and along with that, lost the whole message that I had been typing. The only thing that I can figure is that GoComics was switching over to a new day of strips, because I started my comment on last nights comment page. When I got back on-line, the new strip was here. So, it was either that or maybe there was a higher power (higher than MSN????) that decided I probably shouldn’t bore everybody with the entire history of my family!! LOL
So, now you’ll never know the story of my uncle and his big, clunky, ugly gold-tone wristwatch, or how 2007 was not a good year, or my thoughts on living into my 100’s! And, you’re wondering…“wow! did I miss something good? or Thank goodness she lost that connection!” Ah, don’t worry, like I said, I was just rambling…..
Hope all is well with you and that you’re continuing to feel better and better. Don’t forget to not overdo and get a relapse!
So the first thing my younger brother says upon entering Canada is: “But won’t they be mad at us for stealing Alaska???”Anyway, greetings from Kitchener, Ontario! We had some fun meeting with our cousins yesterday, and we’re just about to head to Toronto in a few minutes. I’m not entirely sure what we’re doing- I’m kind of just following along with my parents, but we’re having fun. Anything interesting happen around here the past few days?
I didn’t have time to fool around with the iPad, but cleokaya kindly directed me to YouTube to a “copy and paste tutorial” for the iPad. You’re probably more accomplished on the iPad than I am, anyway, so see if this works for you:
So, the whole family left on Saturday at about 10:30 for a seven-hour drive to Cleveland. To make a long story short, it was kind of like any of Calvin’s car trips, except our van had four kids in it, and two of them were at least partially sane. We then arrived at a really loud hotel filled with about 800 9- and 10-year-olds..On Sunday, we spent a few hours at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame before heading east. It’s a pretty good museum: I particularly enjoyed the U2:3D Experience (alhough I was disappointed they didn’t play a single song from their “Boy” album…). We passed up into Canada via Niagra Falls, and got a pretty good view of the Falls from the Canada side. After that was dinner, and then a much quieter hotel in Guelph..Yesterday was for the most part spent with relatives in Kitchener. We had some fun playing Trivial Pursuit, though we started with the Baby Boomer version, which didn’t really work because none of us were baby boomers..Today, we spent several hours at Ontario Science Centre, before hurrying back just before rush hour. Currently, my parents and my sisters are going to see The Hunger Games. (Why they’re doing that here and not back home, I have no idea…).I’m not sure if we have any specific plans for the next few days, other than we’re going to see the relatives again tomorrow. But we’re probably not going to the CN tower considering my sister’s response to the St. Louis Arch two summers ago….Anyway, we’ve been having fun, and I’ll be back in a few days!
We went up the CN Tower, hubby was in the 82nd Airborne, parachuted from planes, my kids had no fear going up that outside elavater. I did, but I kept it in check for my boys sake. I will tell you, if you EVER have the chance to go up there, YOU MUST GO! IT IS BEAUTIFUL UP THERE, and the restaurant they have up there is OUTSTANDING. At least it was then. Would I do it again? iN A HEARTBEAT! ABSOLUTELY! That and Whitewater Rafting have been some of the best fun I have ever had!
Fellow Baby, left a comment at Broomie you might enjoy! I’ve been around here a while, and what I said, I think is true. And then there are those who try to get as many comments as possible with a simple one or two word post!
Good evening kids. Another long day so I’m late to the party as usual. Thank you to StelBel, cleokaya, and x_Tech for the IPad info. I’m going to check it out tomorrow because I’m beat. I’m taking a few hours off before the bus comes tomorrow so maybe…?.StelBel as far as knowing how to use this thing goes….let’s just say that I’m a work in progress. Thank you for going out of your way to dig out your iPad and help me figure this out. You are truly a good person and my hat is off to you. (Imagine smiley emoticon tipping it’s top hat to you) :-).Thank you all for your help and patience.
Well, it seems everyone has gone to bed and here I am just getting started. So I will just bid everyone a good night and hope pleasant dreams are had by all.
I know Greg Trail is having a great time and I am so happy for him. But I wish I could be there with him and see the sights he is seeing. I’ve never been to Canada. Gotta go someday!

StelBel I have a feeling his sister has a fear of heights, and to quote “9 Chickweed Lane” from I believe 2 days ago, she must have “Ralphed”.
