I seriously wish my head would stop spinning around the room and settle down back on my shoulders where it belongs. On the plus side of my miserable life, the Hospice volunteer came by to talk to me this morning. She will be able to sit with mom for a couple of hours on Monday mornings. She said she will talk to her husband to see about finding the time to sit for me some afternoon/evening so i can go to a theater.I think i am going to lie down on the couch for a while and see if my head will settle a bit.
Good evening kids. .Good job Mel! I can’t imagine fish charades would be very easy with put props. Their fins are soooo tiny..Hope you feel better happy. I’m glad you will be get some more help with your mom..I’ve never had a flu shot either. The hubby got the shot in his 20’s and got very sick. Doc said he had the flu when he got the shot. The same thing happened the next year, so no more flu shots for him. They say you have to be allergic to eggs to be allergic to the shot, but his allergies are not food related.
I’m certainly not alleric to eggs, but I did get sick shortly after taking the shot. My new doctor at the time had insisted that I take the shot. Every year thereafter I have insisted that I do not and with each new doctor thereafter.
Though I must say, my dad got one every year and the first year he ended up with a bad cold, after that, he never got a cold or the flu again. He was probably in his late 70’s then and lived quite healthy in mind and body in his own home that he and my mom built (she passed in 2005) until he passed at the age of 96! Mom was 89 when she died. She NEVER got a flu shot for the same reasons I don’t! :-) Stubborn Italian women I guess!
Fellow Baby, I can’t watch Happy Days anymore! Seeing the FONZ these days doing commercials for Reverse Mortgages for Senior Citizens just SOMEHOW AIN’T RIGHT!
After McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers left, it lost a lot of the impact. I never really cared for Alan Alda, and as the years went on, the show took on his liberal political opinions. One thing Alan Alda did say once, which has stuck with me, something to the effect, “why do people worry so much about other people’s beliefs other than their own”? If your beliefs aren’t harming anyone else, it does make sense. Now if you are an extremeist and a nut job, that is a different story entirely!
I enjoy watching Wayne Rogers on Fox News on Saturday mornings on the “Cashin’ In” Financial program. That man has a great financial knowledge! And he is a conservative.

I don’t remember allowing props in charades. I used to love playing that game “way back when”.

Now that’s something Mel won’t be having today – unless he goes to an English pub.

I liked the early shows, Fellow Baby, until Fonzie jumped the shark.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 12 years ago
Fellow Baby I only vaguely remember that one. The early shows were without a doubt THE BEST, just as was MASH
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
Yup, the shows with Richie and Trapper John were the best.
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
No disrespect to Harry Morgan. I do like his body of work.

I was on my iPad when I did that and didn’t want to retype it.
