My adult niece lived with me a few years because of job obligations. Her mascot, of sorts, was a plush dog. Her job was so stressful that I created adventures about Pepper and me to amuse her. Some involved LASSIE and SCOOBY DO binge watching. SCOOBY was mainly for October. Pepper was always hiding under her blankets after SCOOBY. Scary stuff for a plush dog. My favorite was when I “babysat” Pepper when she went to Miami for a meeting. Pepper was upset he’d missed some beach time so when she came back, Pepper was sprawled on a beach towel with a thimble “glass” with a teeny-tiny umbrella in it and an almost empty bottle of Scotch nearby. Pepper traveled with her after that. Aunt Mare was a baaad influence.
