There used to be a time when incinerators were standard fixtures in the back yard. Now houses are being built without fireplaces. Soooo, where in suburbia can one burn leaves?
I live in a kind of suburbia where you drive by cows to get to it. There are some neighborhoods here, but many houses on acreage not in neighborhoods. That’s where they’re burning leaves.
Early ‘50’s - Cleveland, OH. Late 50’s - Hacienda Heights, CA. We used to burn the leaves & other assorted paper products, too. I guess what got to me was that this activity has been outlawed for so long, the idea of burning leaves made no sense here in ‘09.
