Jerome's grandpa: What are you doing, Jerome? Jerome: Texting a friend about the ballgame. Jerome's grandpa: Texting? On your phone? Why don't you just call him? It's a phone! Jerome: Nobody phones anymore, Grampa. Texting is quicker and easier to understand. It's the modern way. Jerome's grandpa: Don't be handing me no "modern way." We had texting in my day. We called 'em telegrams! And what about you, Dee? You doing the same thing? Dee: Yes, sir. I'm the friend Jerome is texting.

None of them appeared to be interacting with each other at all. Ron looked at me and said, “That’s about the saddest thing I’ve ever seen!”
