Abby: Wow! Look at the colorful leaves! They're so bright, the trees look like they're on fire. I love this time of year. The temperature is just right and the trees are so beautiful. Fall is my favorite season. Peri: Uh, Abby, you say that about every season. "I love the winter! The air is so crisp and the snow is so beautiful!" "I love the spring! The trees are so green with new leaves, and the warm weather is so nice!" "I love the summer! The days are so long and you can bask in the sun the whole time!" Face it! You're a fan for all seasons. Edith: Oh great, I guess the stupid leaves will be falling all over the place any day now. Peri: And now, representing the other side of that coin... Edith: Is this even a color found in nature?

Abby is a bright ray of sunshine and always has a smile on her face, no matter what time of the year. You could learn a few things from her.

Well Edith, certain leaves do turn purple because of a certain phosphorus deficiency, caused by a lack of fertilizer or soil.
