Without modern luxuries to distract him and having too much time with his soccer ball, Hector looks like he’s on his way to making a select team and becoming a pro athlete. Much closer than Mondo, even.

It’s a little thing called “self-discipline” and I wish I had more of it, too. Makes a big difference in a lot of ways.

If Hector somehow ended up on Chester’s team he would probably decide to quit to go play football like the last good player he had on the squad. Chester tries hard but he is certainly channeling Charlie Brown and Casey Stengel (at least while he was skipper of the Mets).

How, indeed?……

Looks like Mondo’s met his own Jett Logan in the form of Hector.

That’s the kid across the street from me. He practices for a couple of hours a day.
