That is about the only way I can receive necessary medical care anymore. “What we’re going to do is lift your broken leg and drop it 3 maybe 4 times until we see you weep before we order xrays. Then we’ll contemptuously toss you a wash cloth to wipe away the tears.”
Prior to the ACA I used to be able to call the doctor and get in either same day or the next, but now days its 5+ days out. I guess that’s good for more people getting insurance and healthcare but the ACA did not seem to address a serious lack of doctors. I now have to go to the ER if I want to be seen in a day or 2, so I can’t say that has helped insurance costs. I have also looked for another doctor but pretty much all of them in my area have anywhere from a week to two weeks to get in. Which is fine and dandy if its a preventive checkup but when your sick, got strep throat or whatever it don’t work out so well.
angelfiredragon: Which Reich-wing lobby writes your posts? When I was in Canada, we could just phone and by the time we got to the doctor’s, they had scheduled an opening. We showed them our card, they wrote down the number to send to Victoria, and we saw the doctor in under an hour – a regular appointment within ten minutes. In the meantime, we could read his wallpaper (studies he had published in major medical journals), and he was in general practice.
