I think, by looking at how the body is falling in panel 4, that it’s a safe bet to say that Deadeye planned to sacrifice himself to allow Sam a fair start in getting away from the demons. At least one part of his plan has succeeded.

He can shorten his name now, to “Ed Dead”.

I think the demons have turned on the one who summoned them.

Is that one of those devices used later by Aaron Marx??Jenner……now you run.

I think he did it on purpose….it has to have something to do with his “deadeye”… maybe it gets nuclear or something. I don’t believe we have seen the last of him…there wouldn’t be a story!!

I don’t think Ed’s toast. There’s a week to go in this storyline and the strip IS named “Ed Deadeye.”

Maybe we’ll all run into them in Endtown…

Remember, folks, these aren’t dittos. These are hired killers. The only way that our heroes won’t die is if Ed has a secret weapon to pull out of his hat, and there’s no reason to believe he does. Plus, Hugh is also standing by and can use his magic to counter any magic Deadeye tries.No, stick a fork in them, they’re toast.
