Man 1: All I remember is the back of the dairy truck in front of me opening suddenly, and a case of land o' lakes heading right for me, and then everything went black!
Man 2: So it was butter then nothing!
@SusanSunshine yesterday:Actually I meant as would be proud to call your own, not mentor. Oh well. The sediment remains. Which is to say you are the true Queen of Pundom™. Setting the lofty goal to which all others perspire. Unknowingly perhaps you do indeed have a thong of admirers. Well, umm… that is…P.S. I am 100% convinced your forum avatar is an actual photograph of you.
My family always used Land of Lakes Butter….I do too…. because it reminds me being in our kitchen early in the morning with my family, and mom spreading it on my toast….It costs about a dollar more, but the memories are free…..and comforting…
Not sure about that cheesy excuse, though…. He’s the one who hit the tree…. He might be milking that butter story just in case it’ll save his dairy air.
Linux0s… wow… gowrsh… (as Goofy would say)…. I am not worthy.
There are so many great punsters here on GoComics…. cartoonists and readers. You and Dogsniff both made good ones right before I got here tonight.Proud of puns? Wow…you mean, they’re not an affliction?I’m just glad I finally landed someplace in my life where people don’t mind them…
(not that the eye-rolling ever stopped me…. LOL )
The Probably-More-Than-You-Wanted-to-Know Department:My avatar actually WAS drawn from a photo of me, by rOdd Perry, to give him credit. He was, coincidentally, the original artist of Brevity… this very strip. The jokes, or “verbals,” as they called them… were written by Guy Endore-Kaiser.
I was a big fan back on Comics.com… and he offered to make me an avatar if I sent him a photo, when that site merged with GoComics in 2011.Quite an honor…. and just in time, cos Guy and rOdd turned the strip over to Dan Thompson in 2012.
I like to think it’s a very loose caricature…. I don’t have bug eyes or buck teeth….I hope…and I’m…. sigh…considerably older. The only person who says it “looks just like” me is my sister… and … well…you know how sisters are….

This strip whipped me into a frenzy, just like Sambo’s tigers. And when it comes to the lion made of margarine, all I can say is, “O, Leo!”
