As a girl I owned an Easy Bake Oven and spent hours baking cakes. My younger brothers were very jealous. I came home one day to the most awful smell. Our parents were out and my brothers had used my oven and melted their army men, completely destroying the oven (and the army men!)
when I was young had toy called vacuform. used it to make molds of the soldiers. using my mothers flour and tide detergent made copies. you could tell when they took a hit
We would blow up all our plastic models on 4th of July every year. Out with the old, in with the new. And i bought a new batch of army men. They guard my rum on the table.

It’s not easy being green army men.

Good job, Gene.

Those little green army men were indestructible! You couldn’t cut them, tear them apart or even blow up with a firecracker. Only way was to burn them.

My little brother’s green army men were all full of dart holes….
and for some strange reason, of which he professed to have no knowledge,
so was the old desk I loved, at which we took turns doing our homework.

I was partial to shooting them with my BB gun.

We set the yard on fire in order to melt the army men. Pork Chop Hill reenactment or something.

My son kept all his G.I. Joe’s and we sold them 30 years later for over $500.
