    I remember removing the hand guards from my M16A1 in 1970 and seeing they were made by Mattel. We were prepared for war at an early age.

    That box looks like it was for one of the first Joes. They were 12 inches tall in the 60s and 70s and then after a bit of R & R Joe came back as a 4 inch tall figure. Joe did a lot of good for Hasbro.
