    My father had lung cancer, was treated, and was at the end of the 5 year period when they would consider him cured. At the final examination the doctor asked if he had any other problems and he mentioned a spot on his back that wouldn’t stop itching. Turned out to be malignant melanoma, he was dead within a year.
