Of course it was legal. ‘Probable Cause’ covers a multitude of preventative measures in the injustice department.

I would imagine the ones demanding lawyers are the men Capp beat up in the pub!!

BTW, it’s not illegal to arrest a public nuisance.

I’m sure Andy pays his lawyers the same way he pays for his beer, so it’s gonna be hard to find somebody to represent him.

This is Britains version of Minority Report. Capp has clearly demonstrated he’s a nuisance to society so lock him up before he does the crime

There is probably cause, which in Andy’s cause is very probable.

I believe the cops would nonetheless agree that the evening is strictly lovely!

Look at it this way folks … it’s a win, win all around: The cops keep the little troublemaker off the street for the night; Flo has a peaceful evening at home; the bar patrons save money; the bartenders have less aggravation; while Andy stays dry for a change – in more ways than one !
