My grandfather always had to take orders from the hummingbirds. And any time he wasn’t refilling the feeders fast enough to suit them, they’d hang around and nag him about it.
I got similar treatment once from a couple of birds who had decided to build their nest right above my patio door. When I came out in the morning, they made a point of telling me in no uncertain terms that it was rude of me to leave my house. They flew about twenty feet away to another overhang but wouldn’t shut up about it the whole time I was in earshot.
Folks, be aware that squirrels and other pests and rodents breed based partly upon the availability of food. A plentiful food supply causes them to increase the litter sizes.
If you want to sharply reduce the numbers of pest critters in your area, quit putting out food for them. As for bird feeders, I’ve had pretty good success with the Droll Yankee ‘Flipper’, which spins the feeder perch around until the squirrel-and-larger weight is gone.
I did have to modify it slightly, though. I used a section of an old fine-tooth band saw blade, bent into a circle and bound to a size just slightly smaller than the cap of the feeder. I slid that over the hanger bail and down to rest teeth up on the cap. That keeps the squirrels from hanging over the edge of the cap.

Squirrel, I think you have been left hanging there.

My Dad and I watched a squirrel get spun off a bird feeder…
When the squirrel did it again, Dad said that the squirrel was absolutely nuts.

I just got thrown out of my local park for arranging the squirrels by height.
They didn’t like my critter sizing.

How do you make friends with a squirrel?
Climb up a tree and act like a nut!

Why didn’t the squirrel cross the telephone line?
Because it was busy.

What do you call a space travelling squirrel?
An astro-nut.

I’d make fun of what squirrels eat.
But it’d be acorn-y joke.

When I put food out in the seed baskets the first ones to arrive are the squirrels. They’ve become very bold.

In my neighborhood, the birds purposely knock some of the feed down on the ground for the squirrels & chipmunks. We’ve watched them.

A guy noticed a hole in his house by a window. His neighbor was shooting at squirrels on his bird feeder. >

No problem at our house. Our bird feeder is liquid for hummingbirds.

Try to find an old NON SEQUITUR Sunday where Danae’s Dad puts barbed wire around the bird feeder and then electrifies it.

A nice hot Frying pan would solve the problem.
Not that there is enough meat on a squirrel to make it worth the trouble …
