I still think Valley Tech will win. If Milford does win. Out of respect I have for THE WORLD RENOWED SNARKER NATION. I will be back to congratulate everybody if Milford wins.

I would think the catcher would be closer to the plate, even blocking it. A hook slide would have taken the lead. Too bad there are no coaches to teach him that.

For those following along, Milford did, in fact, answer back by not scoring either.

Question: Do high school players keep their batting helmets on while on base?

P1 Atazhoon-hite chucks his helmet at the catcher in an attempt to distract him as he goes into his slide.

P2 Moon experiences an episode of EEVS (exploding esophageal varices syndrome) and begins to uncontrollably bleed out.

P3 “Hey mister, who are you and why are you in our dugout? The port-o-lets are behind the crap shack…errrr…press box. By the way, it’s really rude that you didn’t bring enough hot dogs for everybody.”

In P2, Marty could have said “Out at the plate, great sweep tag by _____.” This is radio, not TV Hans.

Call me crazy, but I think Leo would’ve done better to just cross the plate coming from third rather than running past it and coming back to slide.

On 3rd base, with a lead(hopefully),running on contact, ball is hit all the way to centerfield, and thrown out at the plate ???? Leo has to be slower than Tom Brady !!!!!

The guy can’t score from third on a base hit (or even a fly out)? Does he have lead in his cleats?

After a 4-panel rendition of the national anthem, we’ve had 8 straight days of disjointed baseball action. There are lots of real professional and amateur games out there that people can watch in person or televised. Does anybody come here to see fictitious baseball? I doubt it. The only reason for this strip to exist is its human interest stories centered on the title character and his role as a coach. Seems like we’re just treading water here with this endless ball game.

P1- Leo uses smoke signals to avoid the tag. Nice try.

P3- Gil uses his fingers to show the team what a 4-4 tie looks like.

Despite Leo getting thrown out at home from center field on a single, when he could have skipped down the baseline and beaten the throw easily, it is now the top of the 6th. And the starting pitcher, the star outfielder, and random kid in the middle who may or may not be playing, are all SITTING ON THE BENCH. GET YOUR ASSÉS ON THE FIELD before Grumpire calls a forfeit due to delay of game. And speaking of delays, don’t delay reading today’s Mopped Up Thorp.
