It is funny-just not easily appreciated. I always remember a Thanksgiving dinner where I introduced my Cuban fiance to the family and we were comparing names – and my cousin Bruce stood and announced dramatically “Je suis boniato” (the popular Thanksgiving veg), because it began with the same letter. Many jests do not translate well.
