While cancer can be included in a cartoon, one has to be delicate in balancing it. Unfortunately, Mike, in this instance, because you’re suggesting someone could be faking cancer…ah, that really breaches the acceptable line.

Look, I ’m a cancer surviver myself and went through A LOT of chemo, and I always kept my sense of humor about my disease and the rest of life in general, but not in a disparaging way.

I did many cancer cartoons during my bout with testicular cancer (same type as Lance Armstrong). Here’s an example:

I will also let people know that cancer patients need MORE laughs than people think they might.

This happened a number of times in the last couple of years. It was even part of the story line on “Shameless” this season. It happens. It’s likely a mental health issue, but whether for profit or attention we live in a time where people do unbelievable things. This Cornered cartoon holds up a mirror to that. And maybe will get people talking about it. Who hasn’t been touched by cancer? I don’t know anyone who hasn’t in one way or another. I’m sorry if the cartoon offends, and can understand how it could if you think the cartoon is in any way making “fun” of the subject, but I can assure you the cartoon is simply a slice of what is. I’ve also spent way too much time at hospitals over the past year and the humor for me may be in the nurses ’I’ve seen it all" response. This one is for them

This is not funny to someone who is recovering from cancer.
